Dallas’ Fashion’s Night Out 2012

F

ashion’s Night Out originally began in New York City in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy during the recession. Today, Fashion’s Night Out has grown and spread to over 100 cities nationwide and in Europe to highlight fashion and support retail with exciting events that feature celebrity guests, designer appearances, fashion shows, music, giveaways and more.

The global, non-profit, professional organization, Fashion Group International of Dallas, sponsored Dallas’ fourth annual FNO on September 6, 2012. The celebration brought together Dallas’ finest shopping centers, retailers and boutiques to create a one-night fashion extravaganza that has become more of an opportunity to see and be seen than to shop. Jewel tones dominated the runway with green clearly set to be the dominant color this fall. Other trends included big top buns, sequins, colored jeans and nail designs.  The epic nature of this year’s event just further solidified Dallas as a world-class shopping destination and the fashion capital of the South.

From the quarter of a mile long runway at the Galleria and NorthPark Center’s Nasher sculpture catwalk to Highland Park Village’s runway under the stars, Dallas retailers pulled out all the stops for FNO 2012. Other retailers included Tootsie’s, Neiman Marcus Willow Bend, Stanley Korshak, Neiman Marcus NorthPark, Movida at Mockingbird Station, Forty-Five Ten, Elements, The Hawaiiana and Clotheshorse Anonymous. Even the stores within the centers got in on the action, with cocktail parties, DJ’s, makeovers and gift bags.

Everything was free and open to the public and almost every retailer benefited a charity ensuring that many would benefit from this glamorous night. Enjoy this video highlighting our Fashion’s Night Out 2012 experience at the Galleria, NorthPark Center and Highland Park Village.
