Secrets Shared: Simple Style Tips You Can Do Today

I

have a good girlfriend who is one of those types that has a useful tip for everything.  She’s half old wives tale and half modern woman, so her advice on how to make something simpler, work better, or look chic-er is usually right on the money.  She was kind enough to share some of her favorite tips with us, so here are a few that you may need to pass on as well:

If you want to save your dried out mascara,  add 4-5 drops of saline solution or eyedrops to the bottle. Insert your wand and stir it around.  This will re-energize the mascara solution and make it good to use again.

To organize accessories, buy a clear over-the-door shoe organizer and store your belts, scarves, little accessories, and even sunglasses!

If you have jewelry laying around and no good way to organize it all, store earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. in vintage cups and saucers.  They will stay organized and look pretty darn cute on any dresser or vanity.

Having trouble deciding which colors look best together when decorating a room, styling an outfit, or wrapping a gift?  Try the Color Palette Generator.  Enter the URL of an image to get a color palette that matches the image and you can instantly make a color scheme.

Make your skin feel amazing with a DIY face scrub.  All you need is:

  • 3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • ½ Cup  Sugar

Mix the ingredients together in a small plastic container (that has a lid,) and use after cleansing.  Store at room temperature.
