FGI Dallas: Fashion & Lifestyle Awards
n November 19th, FGI Dallas hosted their Fashion and Lifestyle Awards, with proceeds benefitting their scholarship fund. I hadn’t attended this event before, so I was very excited to see the runway show with a handful of top fashion designers and hear speeches by the award recipients. My chic “work date”, Elisabeth Jordan, accompanied me through the throng of stylish and sexy attendees, introducing me to interesting people like Cynthia Smoot and catching up with with our friend, Bri Crum. I interviewed Terri Provencal, who I have to say is as friendly as she is classy. Her enthusiam about the event was so contagious that by the time the awards began, I was penciling in the date for next year’s party. My friend from Campbell Agency days, Amy Vanderof, was the Mistress of Ceremonies while wearing a stunning Abi Ferrin creation. The highlight for me? Watching another one of Jan Strimple’s trance-inducing runway shows highlight local designers. Watching those glamorous models shashaying almost made me want to put down the mini-cheesecakes I was devouring at our table. Almost.
