Mid Week Must-Haves
his week I was inspired by Jeune Marie’s blog to do an overhaul on my closet. I needed to transport my summer wardrobe upstairs to my seasonal storage closet and bring down the fall and winter wardrobe, so I figured, what better time to do a closet makeover? After seeing the great work fellow bloggers have done on their closets, I decided to bite the bullet and make a small investment in mine. My first order of business to was to buy organizational items to get me motivated. I went to Target, Wal-Mart, and The Container Store for a hanging wardrobe, basic brown storage bins, stacking shelves to organize t-shirts/leggings/work-out attire, and wooden hangers. Now, I knew replacing my regular wire and plastic hangers would be expensive (especially since I needed around 250 just for the fall and winter wardrobe alone,) so I bought the Canopy mahogany wooden hangers at Wal-Mart. They are more expensive online, but in-store you can buy 20 for $12. Great deal! Four hours and a lot of trash bags of wire hangers later, I am thrilled with my new closet! I can actually SEE the items that I already have, since wooden hangers can be spaced evenly and hang at the same height. I’ll admit I have even walked into my closet just to admire my handiwork….my closet has never been this neat and pretty. So, this week’s must-have is the fairly inexpensive but incredibly pretty and helpful wooden hanger. You’ll feel like a celebrity stylist has taken over your space, and you can finally see the fabulous wardrobe you own. My closet isn’t quite finished, but I’ll share a few photos so you can see what I’ve done so far. To take on this project, here are my picks:
Wal-Mart Canopy Wooden Hangers
The Container Store Premium Walnut Wooden Hangers
Canopy Hanging Wardrobe, Rich Brown/Fresh Ivory
Container Store Stacking Shelves
Target Whitmore Small Storage Bin
I’d love to see photos of what other people have done on their own closet makeovers-email me: [email protected].
Happy Organizing!
