United Way Fashion Show Recap
ast Saturday night, lovers of all things fashion congregated at Cirque on the pool deck for a red carpet fashion show benefiting The United Way and showcasing local design talent. Lindsey Weatherread and Rochelle Rodriguez presented their new collections on Campbell Wagner models as DJ SoulJah spun great tunes all night. Some of the highlights included Nothing Bundt Cakes giving out mini cupcakes and Aveda doling out chair massages. Talented event planner Lisa Johnson put together an amazing array of sponsors for guests to receive goodies and information from, which gave us time to mingle with a purpose. One interesting addition to the normal runway show routine? Lesli Marshall’s art showing in between the fashion collections by models dressed in native dress. (The bongo drum guys were a nice touch.) When it was all over, guests didn’t leave empty-handed. Goodie bags filled with freebies, copies of Swagg Magazine and coupons were given out upon departure. Events like this one are what I love about Dallas-we know how to party, but do it all in the name of a good cause.
