Mid Week Must-Haves

E

very week, I seem to find something else to obsess over that makes my heart sing and my wallet cringe. This week, it’s shoes. InStyle magazine declared the top six shoe trends for fall:

-Pointy Toe Heels
-Black Strappy Heels
-Biker Boots
-Blush Tones
-Bright Suedes
-Kiltie Details

Though I’m not on board with all of them yet, the black strappy heels, blush tones, and bright suedes appeal to my feminine side in a big way. The bright suedes are the most fun, but shouldn’t take over the bulk of my shoe budget. Nine West carries the Ample style that comes in several bright colors for around $89. My vote goes with the Dark Pink color, which is actually a pretty jewel tone purple.

Blush tone heels are wardrobe staples, so it isn’t a crime to spend a little more on them. Personally, I’m fond of wedges because it gives me the height I need and I can still walk in them all day long. InStyle features Walter Steiger blush wedges for $600, and these look as cute as they are comfy.

Last but not least, is the black strappy heel. I have a love/hate relationship with black heels because I love they can be worn with everything, but hate they can be worn with everything. I’ve worn my two favorite pairs so much in the past year that the heel completely broke off of one pair, and the others were destroyed by standing on a soaking wet red carpet during the Fox Really Awards last October. That being said, I now look for a super stylish pair that can withstand a lot of activity. Dolce & Gabbana is known for their eye-catching style and utilitarianism, so their black grosgrain strappy sandals (on Bluefly for $520,) are a no-brainer. For a more affordable version, the Charles by Charles David line has the Foxxy for $75, which leaves a little cash left over for your ticket to the Cattle Baron’s Ball.

There you have it….now go and feed your shoe fetish.
