Abi Ferrin and the NFL Wives: Star Studded Combo
T
his is Dallas; one minute it’s 100 degrees and the next it’s below freezing. That’s why it really didn’t shock anyone when five inches of snow and ice showed up last February 4th when famed designer Abi Ferrin and more than 30 NFL players’ wives took to the runway at the Fairmont Hotel.
The illustrious hotel was host to The 10th Annual Off The Field Players’ Wives Awards Banquet and Fashion Show in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This cause is especially dear to the hearts of parents everywhere, since St. Jude means no family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance and families without insurance are never asked to pay.
Those who were lucky enough to attend this glamorous event got to rub elbows with Michelle Witten (wife of Jason Witten), Sherice Brown (wife of Tim Brown), and Romonda Jordan (wife of Randy Jordan). The always stunning Pat Smith (wife of Emmitt Smith) helped hand out several prestigious awards and proclaimed Abi Ferrin as one of her go-to designers when she wants to look her best.

What many may not know is women rescued from the sex trade in Nepal and Cambodia are an integral part of helping create Abi’s special line of USA-made garments. Employing people like these women and contributing funds to organizations who help these women are part of Ferrin’s mission, and in turn becomes a beautiful by-product of each purchase of her creations.
As a special surprise, the NFL husbands walked with their wives’ on the runway, as well as Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih, and Miss Teen USA, Kamie Crawford.
As if that parade of stars wasn’t enough, a live and silent auction featured a rare 6.32 carat pink diamond donated by Worldwide Diamond Ventures and exclusively set by Olschwanger Designs.
To say this event was a success is an understatement; it cemented Abi Ferrin as an icon for glamorous women from all walks of life and generated badly needed proceeds for the nation’s top children’s cancer hospital. Fashion and purpose…it’s a beautiful combination.
