Back to School With the Perfect Tote

back to school totes

T

here’ s nothing like stepping onto campus for the first day of class. The familiar faces, new books and notepads, and the still attainable goal of getting all As that semester have always made that first day back something to look forward to.

Having attended Catholic school up until college, I had been forced to wear plaid every day for most of my life. When I got to college at Southern Methodist University, I was terrified. What was I going to wear? I plotted my ‘first day of school’ outfit for at least two weeks; everything centered around my tote. By the end of college, my fervor for analyzing each and every outfit had died and I had slipped into a medley of various lululemon ensembles. But the tote remained. At the end of the day, it’s all about having a fabulous tote.

If you’re not old like me (22 years young!), and are lucky enough to be going back to school, here are a few of my faves:

The classic Tory Burch Ella Tote

For the thriftier student who still loves a good label,

this Madewell tote is under $50.
